Spring Break with Vacation Rentals

March is Spring Break month! Time to forget about papers and projects, and break out your sunglasses, bathing suit and flip flops. It's time to party with your friends, unwind, perfect your tan, and – if it's your style – consume copious amounts of alcohol while you're at it.

Popular Spring Break destinations like Mazatlan, Cancun, and Las Vegas are ideal for college students who want to escape a rigid schedule on their vacation. Such destinations cater to Spring Breakers and are more than likely to be in tune with your less-than-conventional schedule (for example, they'll expect you to stumble in at nine in the morning and to sleep until two in the afternoon).

Most Spring Breakers book the cheapest hotel they can find and then cram as many of their friends as is humanely possible into that 10 by 20 foot room. Big mistake. Think about your friends. Would you really want to wake up face to face, sharing the same drool-stained pillow, with some of them? Paints a pretty vivid picture, doesn't it? If your answer is no, read on, and consider vacation properties like Mazatlan timeshares instead of that traditional hotel.

Mazatlan Spring Break: Party in the “Pearl of the Pacific”

If you're already on the West Coast and don't want to travel far for Spring Break, this is the destination for you. Mazatlan offers innumerable bars and nightclubs that remain open long after the sun has set and risen again, as well as a variety of restaurants within walking distance of most hotels and resorts. There are also a myriad of recreational activities in which you can partake (on those days when you aren't too hungover). And while most destinations in Mexico have breathtaking beaches, Mazatlan boasts the longest stretch of unspoiled, pristine beach in the entire country!

But don't accept your fate regarding your pillow-sharing, drooling friend just yet. Because Mazatlan is a Spring Break oasis that offers great value for the dollar, there's a way to remedy the issue of securing enough space for you and all your friends to sleep comfortably: rent a vacation property like those found at Pueblo Bonito Resorts in Mazatlan. Located right on the beach, these rental units resemble small apartments rather than traditional hotel rooms, and include kitchens, extra dining and living space, and – get this – as many as three bedrooms and a sleeper sofa. That's more than enough space for you your many companions. And, best of all, split a number of ways, these rental units are generally comparable in price to similar quality hotel rooms and sometimes actually cost less.

So feel free to enjoy all Mazatlan has to offer without sacrificing your personal space or your dignity. Or try one of these other exciting destinations for similar deals and comforts!

The Iconic Spring Break: Cancun, Mexico

Cancun is the number one international Spring Break destination. For that reason, and that reason alone, you have to think about going on Spring Break here.

Though you might also want to consider its white sandy beaches, aquamarine waters, and the fact that daily temperatures range in the mid 80's and at night it's never cooler than 60 degrees. Yeah. That might be another reason to choose Cancun.

Or maybe it's the Hotel Zone – the 14-mile strip of hotels, resorts, Cancun rentals, restaurants, and 200 bars and nightclubs – that appeals to you. After all, that's where most of the Spring Break action is concentrated. In fact, that's where you'll find some of the hottest events each year – those that make Spring Break legend – including MTV's Spring Break extravaganza.

Spring Break in the City of Sin: Las Vegas, Baby!

Las Vegas never sleeps, and if you Spring Break here, chances are neither will you! Gambling, poker, slot machines, strip clubs, nightclubs, shopping; whatever your pleasure (or your weakness) you can find it here. If you're looking for a non-stop vacation that's sure to rival – and likely exceed – any stories your friends might come home with, this is it. Of course, you don't actually have to tell all your stories from your Spring Break in Las Vegas. After all, what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas, remember?

Conveniently, March is the best time to hit the Vegas Strip. In the spring, temperatures aren't overwhelming as they can be in the summer, so lounging poolside is a completely feasible way to cure that hangover. One of the best parts about Spring Break in Las Vegas, however, is that the entire Strip is privately owned, so there's no open container law. That's right, kids. This means you can carry that margarita or vodka tonic right onto the sidewalk.

Of course, there are also hundreds of performances, shows, and concerts you could attend. Just make sure to reserve your tickets well in advance of your Spring Break travel date. Shows tend to sell out quickly, and, besides, who wants to worry about scheduling your evening plans when you're up $200 at the Black Jack table?
